Can it block another app from using my microphone or camera?
Android does not let one app block another. Mic Protection and Camera Protection tell you when something uses them, flag use while the screen is off, and help you revoke the permission. On Android 12 and newer, the system’s own mic and camera switches cut off every app at once.

Android 8.0 and newer.
Why does it ask for so many permissions?
Each feature needs a specific one: seeing installed apps to scan them, location to read your Wi-Fi’s security type, notifications for alerts, and so on. The privacy policy explains every permission.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Scanning, the firewall, Mic and Camera Protection, USB Guard and the vault work offline. The VPN, DNS filtering, database updates and breach checks need a connection.
